BIOGRAPHY
Shirin Peykar, LMFT, NATC is a graduate of University of Southern California with a Master of Arts in Marriage & Family Therapy. She has been practicing psychotherapy for over 10 years. Shirin brings a unique sense of warmth, optimism, awareness and collaboration to her work with clients. She is active in sessions, encouraging shifts in the perception of how clients think, feel, and experience others. Shirin is attentive to patterns in relationships and believes in the importance of exploring a person’s full story before exploring the presenting issue. Her holistic approach encompasses mindfulness techniques and Schema Therapy.
Shirin has specialized training in treating Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Narcissistic Personality Disorder, and narcissistic abuse survivors. She has learned from Dr. Ramani Durvasula, Pete Walker, LMFT and Wendy Behary, LCSW by way of mentorships, training, and consultation.
Shirin is a member of California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), Los Angeles County Psychological Association (LACPA), (ISST) Schema Therapy Society. Shirin is licensed in California, Texas, Florida, Oregon and Virginia
